Beneficiaries
Since its creation, Handicaps Solidaires Luxembourg Asbl has made it its mission to use sport as a vehicle for solidarity. The funds raised each year through the Solirunbike support concrete projects carried out by two partner organizations: one in Luxembourg, the other in Burkina Faso. Together, they work towards greater inclusion, access to healthcare, and education.
Back To Sport – Luxembourg
The Back To Sport association works to promote the inclusion of people with reduced mobility through sports. It encourages and supports people with disabilities in resuming physical activity, offering them adapted solutions and a supportive environment.

Children's Hymn Foundation - Burkina Faso
The L'Hymne aux Enfants Foundation provides vital support to seriously ill and impoverished children in Burkina Faso, particularly those suffering from noma—a devastating bacterial infection that causes severe facial disfigurement—or cancer. These often marginalized children receive essential medical care, rehabilitation, and compassionate support.

Concrete achievements

In 2025, HSL members travelled to Burkina Faso (at their own expense) to assess projects, verify expenditures, meet with beneficiaries and identify future needs.
Here are some concrete projects funded thanks to Solirunbike:
School buildings
A primary school comprised of two buildings and a nursery school (currently under construction). Today, 360 students study there in excellent conditions. The classrooms are spacious, well-ventilated, and secure. Quality education is now accessible to children who were previously deprived of it.
A well and an educational vegetable garden
A well was dug to provide drinking water to the school and the residents of the neighborhood. It also allowed for the development of a large vegetable garden, used to feed the children at the boarding school and as an educational tool for vegetable gardening classes.
A medical center
A pediatric health center that provides essential medical care to children and families in the neighborhood. It is run by a team of volunteer doctors, including Dr. Kam, a pediatrician deeply involved in the community.
